The Kano State Government has spent over N200 million in a mass wedding. This wedding happened on Sunday, 26th of February 2017, and it involved 1,520 couples. The Kano state government established this mass wedding scheme to help the less privileged. So far, it is working. EFCC produces list of assets connected to ex-minister

TheEFCC has exposed some secrets about ex-Minister of Petroleum and natural resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke. The anti-corruption body plans to use this as evidence against the former minister. Meanwhile, the UK authorities have set a date for her trial. Diezani Allison-Madueke, along with four other people, was arrested on suspicion of bribery and corruption and money laundering. The EFCC produced a list of some of the assets linked to Mrs. Allison-Madueke. However, she has denied any involvement in the crimes. However, the trial will hold in June.

Former Benue State governor arrested over gun stash

Meanwhile, the Department of State Services arrested the former governor of Benue State. The ex-governor was invited for questioning over some dangerous items found in the boots of some luxurious cars parked in a property belonging to him. The DSS stated that they found several types of arms and ammunition, 21 Certificates of Occupancy, designer watches, and keys to various exotic cars. Meanwhile, Gabriel Suswam is currently helping out in the investigation.

Lecturer speaks against students using Google Search to  do assignments

A lecturer from the University of Ilorin does not like students using Google Search. Mr. Ibrahim Oseni, who works with the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Ilorin, said that recently. He said that students have become lazy; he further explained that nowadays, students don’t want to go to the library and read books. Instead, they just search for information on the Internet. Furthermore, he advised lecturers and teachers to discourage Google search results in their assignments.

Student kills herself over boyfriend

A Ghanaian student committed suicide. She was the daughter of a legislator for one of the constituencies in Ghana, and a student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology. Apparently, she failed one of her courses and could not bear the shame. However, some reports suggest that she killed herself because of her boyfriend. Her boyfriend had been going out with another lady o the campus; she could not bear to see them together, so she hung herself.
