Someone made the following statement this morning: “You can wakeup tomorrow and the person you love is in love with someone else. But a $100 will always be a $100.” In other words, love is tenuous but money is dependable, so chase after money. More or less. Or so it seems.
Someone replied him with this: “Tomorrow, your country’s (or another’s) economy may crash and $100 could be worth less than a plastic spoon.” There. See the big picture? There were people who were multi-millionaires years ago before the stock market crash. Then, they ended up with more or less nothing.
The honest-to-God truth is that nothing is rock solid and fail-safe in this life. Regardless of what is at the top of your value chain, you can still get bitten. Badly too.
