Do you want a lovely “church” wedding but you are on a budget? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. With some creativity, anything is possible. You just have to be willing to break with convention a tweeny little bit.
Zegbua shared with us the account of an actual wedding ceremony that pulled it off elegantly:
- As each guest entered the church, they were handed a gift bag that contained a drink, small chops, Jollof rice and chicken pack, a jotter, a pen, a mug, and the wedding programme.
- During service, the couple danced and accepted gifts and cash envelopes.
- After service the couple danced out of church and took pictures with guests.
- Ceremony over. Couple left on honeymoon. Everyone went home.
The whole thing was orderly. Everyone got something to eat and drink. The service was up to par. And guests didn’t have to drive around or spend the whole day at the wedding. The couple succeeded in cutting off the costs that include: reception hall and decorations, DJ or band, as well as MC. We love it!
What other creative ways do you think that intending couples can keep their wedding expenses down?
