UEFA Champions League Week 4: Expect some drama!

Yay, everyone! Once again, the UEFA Champions League is upon us! Today begins Week 4 of group fixtures in the competition. We are going to be looking forward to an exciting round of matches tonight and tomorrow. There’s a lot of drama we should look forward to, too, without focusing on the score line

  1. Barcelona vs Manchester City: What’s it going to be, Citizens? The reverse fixture at Camp Nou saw Lionel Messi hit a sumptuous hat-trick and Claudio Bravo get sent off. Also, Manchester City had been on an underwhelming run of form, winless in five matches. However, they ended that streak emphatically on Saturday. Can they continue that run? Barcelona have experienced a run of poor wins too. Their last two matches were not exactly Barcelona material, as it took the intervention of Rafinha to beat Alaves. Also, against Valencia, only a stoppage time Lionel Messi penalty saved their hides. However, what’s it going to be this time? Only time will tell. Let us sit back and enjoy the show.
  2. PSV vs Bayern Munich: One of the greatest footballers in Europe right now returns to his former club. I’m talking about Arjen Robben. The Dutch midfielder played for PSV in 2004 before moving to Chelsea. From there, his amazing story was told. Currently at Bayern Munich, and with a truck load of medals to boast of, Arjen Robben will surely intimidate his former club in their home. When they visited Bayern Munich last month, Robben scored one and assisted two. Will we be seeing a repeat performance today, however? Well, maybe not, I admit. Homecoming can be overwhelming for some players . . .just kidding. I expect Robben to destroy his boyhood club again. Just like Ibrahmovic did to Malmo, and Ronaldo tried to do to Sporting CP.

The rest of the matches will happen the way they should happen. I’m not fussing about any other match. Here are the rest of the fixtures for Week 4:

  • Basel vs Paris St Germain
  • Ludogorets vs Arsenal
  • Besiktas vs Napoli
  • Benefica vs Dynamo Kiev
  • Borussia Monchengladbach vs Celtic
  • Atletico Madrid vs Rostov

Week 4 sure looks exciting, doesn’t it? Please be careful out there, people. Don’t get violent over these matches.
